Position Description:

Engineers will be responsible for design and development of broadband products utilizing a new class of network processor. Engineers will implement and document new products & features, integrate various protocol stacks or management systems, develop hardware device drivers, support customers, and develop engineering tools and scripts. Engineers will work with the following protocols and systems: Embedded/carrier grade Linux, ATM, IP, Ethernet, Frame Relay, MPLS, DiffServ, RSVP, OSPF, 802.1p/q, DSL, SONET, GFP, PNNI, LANE, VPNs, SANs, Fibre Channel, Infiniband, SMPTE, encryption, and wireless systems.

Position Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have a BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and in-depth knowledge of embedded, real-time operating systems and C/C++; experience with embedded Linux is desired. Candidates must have experience in building networking software. Experience with traffic engineering, traffic management, connection and resource management, routing, redundancy, and system performance tuning is required. Candidates should have experience in the development of the requirements and architecture specifications and a proven history of successful multi-processor software architecture design and implementation.

Working Environment:

Standard office environment, up to 10% domestic travel.
There may be a need for a security clearance.
