Position Description:

Summary:

Engineers will be responsible for design and development of broadband products utilizing a new class of network processor. Engineers will implement and document new products & features, integrate various protocol stacks or management systems, develop hardware device drivers, support customers, and develop engineering tools and scripts.   Engineers will work with the following protocols and systems: Embedded/carrier grade Linux, ATM, IP, Ethernet, MPLS, DiffServ, RSVP, OSPF, 802.1p/q, DSL, SONET, GFP, PNNI, VPNs, SANs, Fibre Channel, Infiniband, encryption, and wireless systems.

Qualified candidates will have in-depth knowledge of embedded, real-time operating systems and C/C++; experience with embedded Linux is desired. Candidates must have experience in building networking software. Experience with traffic engineering, traffic management, connection and resource management, routing, redundancy, and system performance tuning is required. Candidates should have experience in the development of the requirements and architecture specifications and a proven history of successful multi-processor software architecture design and implementation.

 Primary Responsibilities:

• Device driver and card driver development.
• Device, card and system diagnostic utilities used for lab debug, factory test and debug, and support utilities used to analyze issues in customer networks.
• Unit and system test support
• QA and factory test support

 Additional Responsibilities:

The ability to assists in control plane, fast path, and protocol development may also be required. Travel to customer sites for issue resolution may be required.

Position Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience

Qualified candidates will have 8+ years of experience, and a BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

There may be a need for a security clearance.
