Rick BleszynskiRick Bleszynski

With over 18 years of experience in the communication, computer and semiconductor industry, Rick was the visionary behind Bay’s innovative architecture. Prior to Bay, Rick founded Softcom Microsystems in 1996. At Softcom, Rick defined, created and developed the complete architecture for both the GigaBlade™ Broadband Accelerator and the SoftcomEngine™, the world’s first single-chip full-duplex OC-12c network processor. Intel acquired Softcom in July 1999. Prior to Softcom, Rick worked at LSI Logic where he was instrumental in creating LSI’s Telecom Products Division. While at LSI, Rick was also principally involved in creating the ATMizer™ Product Family, managing all aspects from architecture and implementation to market adoption. The ATMizer, the first re-programmable RISC communication processor in the industry, is still identified today as the driving force behind the network processor revolution. Rick is recognized as an authority on traffic management and network processor design, and has nine patents awarded and numerous patents pending in broadband networking. He holds a BSCS and an MSEE.
