Network Silicon

Bay Microsystems has pioneered the high end of the network processor market since 2000. Bay was the first company to deliver an integrated Network Processor with Traffic Manager running at full 10G line-rate based on our innovative, scalable mASIP™ architecture. The resulting advancements in network and transport processor silicon empower Bay Microsystems and our customers to create highly innovative and vastly differentiated network systems.

We have continued our cycle of innovation and are leading the second wave of Network Processors technology with our introduction of Chesapeake, a 40G line-rate, integrated Network Processor and Traffic Manager with the internal processing capacity to support the emerging 100G Ethernet market. Bay standardized the practice of integrating robust traffic management to provide hard QoS within its network processors. This integration has emerged as a key requirement for today’s converged voice, video, and data network infrastructure elements to ensure the delivery of high quality user experiences.
