Bay Microsystems is facilitating the next generation network equipment designs with BayPort™, its family of highly integrated demonstration and evaluation platforms. BayPort provides the ability to fully validate the performance and functionality of Bay’s Network Processors. BayPort supports multiple line card configurations and interfaces to facilitate any-to-any interworking, bridging, and routing.  Via BayPort, classification, ACLs, marking/metering, congestion management, packet editing and MTM ™ (Multimedia Traffic Management) can be analyzed and verified at line rates from 1GE to 40GE. BayPort allows rapid prototyping and validation of real world applications and enables customers to realize the full potential of Bay’s network processors.

BayPort Advantage

Robust tool suites supporting evaluation of network processing technology are an absolute requirement. These suites ultimately determine the utility and timeliness of the resulting network element solution. BayPort supports a comprehensive set of tools, coupled with Bay’s network processor technology, that comprehends the system application and presents the developer with an environment that is network system centric. The platform features NEXTware™ Software Suite running on a general purpose CPU and a standard Linux OS. The powerful Applications Programmers Interfaces (APIs) and the application library provided with BayPort allow developers to experience the ease of programming and configuration of Bay’s Network Processors. BayPort is a vital component of the Lighthouse Tool Suite enabling customers to build feature rich products targeting a range of applications.

BayPort p10

This is a demonstration and evaluation platform based on our Montego® and Biscayne® network processors. The system provides the ability to fully validate Montego and Biscayne processors at 10G wire speed. BayPort p10 supports multiple interfaces including 10x1GbE, 4xOC48, 10GbE and OC192c.

BayPort p40

This is a demonstration and evaluation platform based on our Chesapeake® network processor. The system provides the ability to fully validate Chesapeake at 40G wire speed. BayPort p40 supports multiple 10GbE and 1GbE interfaces. Additional interfaces will be supported.
